I stopped in yesterday with my Daughter and her fiance to get out of the rain. It was the middle of the afternoon so we ordered Margaritas and an appetizer (chicken nachos). The Margaritas were small (about 6 oz) and pretty weak. The nachos were tasty but very small. I have ordered nachos in other Mexican restaurants that were 3 times the size. Since the nachos left us feeling hungry, we followed with an order of chicken wings. The chicken wings were on the small side and still cold on the inside, probably because they were frozen. The only reason I gave this restaurant 2 stars is because the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I am a local but I won't be stopping by again.

Limited menu. But food was good and service wasn't bad. A lot pricey but location means the world. You can walk from slopes. Grilled chicken salad Kid burritos Street tacos

This place is great. The carnitas and guacamole are made fresh everyday, and being from San Diego they rank at least #2 of best taco places I have been too If you just want a relaxing night watching sports this is the place to go. The bartenders and waiters are awesome. Definitely go here if you stay in Winterpark, you won't be dissapointed!

Don't spend a dime at lime! Extremely rude staff, terrible service, especially Craig at the bar. This dude is incompetent and he shouldn't be working for anyone, anywhere. Poor service, lack of attention, argumentative, and seemingly annoyed that they actually have to work while at work. This is a resort town, so service is essential to business. We come up here often, we'll never eat here, nor ever spend a dime at Lime, not in Winter Park and definitely not in Denver or anywhere else on Earth. This place just left a bad taste in the mouth all around. We were going to try it for the first time, we ended up requesting our money back and left. We went to another restaurant in the Winter Park Village and had great service. I'd recommend going any where in the Village but Lime. I wish we would have read the reviews before trying it out. We would have dodged a bullet and saved some time. The comments by others on Craig are spot on.

As a regular at the Lime here in downtown Denver located in the Pavilions I was thrilled to see this Lime location up in Winter Park! Was till I had terrible service. sad.. On the plus side-Food quality was quite fair. After waiting 25 mins for a "table" we were offered a seat at the secondary bar rail for a party of 3 ( Two adults with a 5 year old girl) Being hungry and thirsty we agreed to sit in the bar with our child in hopes to get quick service. NOPE 10 minutes later, and after watching numerous employees pass us by only to take on-shift drinks (YES DRINKING ALCOHOL ON THE JOB)-- I approached the hostess who "seated" us to inquire if we actually had a server. she informed me that all the bar area was the responsibility of the bartenders. Well they had a full bar-- but seemed more interested in pouring Jameson Whiskey shots for the "servers" who were drinking (not working) with them this past Saturday afternoon. I ordered our food through the hostess. Food arrived- and as I mentioned was very fair. So-- maybe the kitchen staff wasn't getting the "perks of the job" the front of the house staff was enjoying in clear sight of customers. $50 later we were no longer hungry or thirsty. (I did order one Happy Hour Margarita -- which did contain some tequila- however a world away from the honest quality I regularly enjoy every Tuesday night at the Downtown Denver location) Maybe things run differently up in the mountain towns?? Maybe not. Will I return to Lime the next time I am in Winter Park?? Magic 8 Ball says = Probably not

Food was decent but I think we had the worst server there. It took over 15 minutes for our server to even come to our table and we got our food about 20 minutes after tables that were seated after us

Food was good, service not so much. The place has a very "bar" scene vibe, as in it might look better NOT in the daylight. The floors were dirty & walls chipped and peeling in spots. The carnitas were good and we enjoyed the buffalo & BBQ wings, even though they didn't make it out as the appetizer we'd expected (we waited a long time for food & refills on water).

first I would like to start this review with an apology..To our waitress, for which I am so sorry I had the audacity to interrupt your busy schedule so you could go fetch us some menus while we waited and waited and waited twittling our thumbs staring at the blank white walls and empty table in front of us. Yes, it is true we were only waiting for 15 minutes, and yes, I forgot you had 3 other tables to accomodate, you poor thing. And yes, even though you told us it would be "a couple of minutes"-- It was just plain rude of me to even ask...for a menu - I'm sorry. Seriously - shockingly bad service, bleh food, I love mexican (see my other reviews) -not impressed with the chips and salsa. (sweet corn tamales were good though) and a really odd ugly interior design, I felt like we were dining in a middle school gym, bright flourescent overhead lights with big white bare walls Poorly executed in virtually every way- dont waste your time here!

Came here during a holiday weekend with a group of six for dinner and drinks. Waitress was great but the food and management were horrible. The rice was not even cooked fully cooked on any of our orders and they did not have corn tortillas, which are both unacceptable for a Mexican restaurant. Furthermore, we been drinking for a couple hours and then happy hour came and we wanted to order the vodka specials. They were out of well vodka and would not honor happy hour prices for the next level up even after speaking to management. Also they did not have mint for mojitos. So not even was the food horrible but they did not have a many of the menu items. Over all a horrible experience and do not recommend it.

Not sure why everyone is against Lime. Remember this is a ski town - this is not LA, NY, Chicago, etc. If you are looking for decent food and decent drinks, this is exactly what you will get here. Although this wouldn't be the best place to go for your one night out in Winter Park, this is the ideal place to go to meet with friends at the end of a fun day of skiing and boarding. I found the service just fine. When my drink, or one of my friend's drinks, was almost finished, the waiter kindly asked if we wanted another one drink. They also didn't badger us about getting food and after an hour or so several of us decided to order food there. The place has decent tacos FYI. We spent two hours here watching football and chatting and I would go back there again if given the chance.

Pricey! No kids menu options. My kids ate $12 burgers. Rice and beans were bland. No flavor. Chicken soft tacos were good.

I went to Lime twice for happy hour. It was crowded and festive. The wait staff doesn't really engage with you. They seem to be on auto pilot. The Happy Hour deal is great if you want margs or a draft ($3-$4 from 3-6pm). The cocktail menu was solid and what was impressive was their tequila menu. Unfortunately when we asked our waiter some questions about the various tequilas he said he really didn't know anything about them nor did he offer up someone who did. I'd go back for the happy hour and to try some tacos. We had the shrimp poppers and the wings and they were fine.

Great happy hour! The only reason for 4 stars is because we were seated right by the entrance and everyone had to pass/bump into is on their way. Not to mention the cold air. Other than that, food and drinks were cheap during HH

I rarely review restaurants on yelp (I'm an admitted leech), but I feel 2.5 stars is a very unfair rating based on my experience. We had lime barbacoa tacos and grilled baja fish tacos, and they were both excellent. My wife's margarita was also very good, and they had a decent beer selection, which made me happy.

Awesome food.... Awesome service..... Loved it enough to yelp about it! Wow! Vibe was chill and the margaritas were on point! I say ...... You must Go! (-; loved it! The girl at the desk suggested this place for happy hour..... We listened and we are happy we did. I don't even like fish but I tried the fish tacos and they were awesome!i had the cantina combo...... Wow corn tamales YUMMY! If I was here for more than one night..... I would become a regular! Good spot! Try it......

This place is named Lime because you need to squeeze lime juice on everything they serve in order to make it palatable. Our party ordered Tortilla soup. It tasted like (and we are pretty sure of this): canned Chinese soup with tortilla strips and shredded cheese. The fish tacos were lack luster and the tacos tasted old. The food here is so bad (listen up Winter Park Resort) that it is making me think twice of coming back to Winter Park. The service was good. Our waiter was helpful and attentive. The atmosphere and cleanliness were also good. The food is the issue and why else would you come here. If you are hungry, and don't want to leave the village, try Cheeky Monk. The food there was very good.

Great little spot at Winter Park Village. I'd recommend to anyone. My group started with some guacamole, salsa, chips, and beers... all hit the spot. Followed that up with fajitas, burrito, and enchiladas for dinner... Lime nailed it with that as well. Specifically anything they offer with their grilled chicken you'll like... seasoned to perfection.

This place doesn't deserve the low rating. Great margaritas and food. Had the tortilla soup which had a green chile base and was delicious. The tacos and salad were good as well. Friendly people and good service.

First time at the Winter Park location- we ordered the fish tacos and they in my opinion were not worth the calories. However its a great place in the summer to sit on the patio and enjoy a happy hour margarita and watch the good looking mountain bike guys walk by.

  • Jonathan W.

Great place for happy hour. $4 frozen margs from 3-6 are the way to go. Tasty margaritas! Service is cool, though you just have to be assertive in Winter Park. The locals (employees) are pretty laid back folk.

  • Melissa P.

I had an okay experience--nothing terrible, but nothing great. We just came for beers and some chips and queso during happy hour after a day of skiing. It was cheaper than the other options around, and the beer was fine. It was pretty busy, and service was slow. I got the impression from our waitress that she thought we were college kids ready to skip out on our tab--when I'm actually a young professional. If I hadn't been buying for the whole table, I would have gone to Cheeky Monk..which I think I'll do next time I'm in town.

If they had 1.5 stars I would rate them there. Glass of white sangria tasted like a weak kiddie cocktail. Sent it back and server got at attitude. Brought a glass of less than half full pinot grigio for $9. Food was OK. Two plates brought for sharing had caked old food on them. Hope we don't get sick. Eat here as a last resort. They are only still in business due to captive resort crowd.

  • Eric S.

It's official. This place sucks. I would rate their food as similar to something I could get from a Taco Cart. It is way overpriced but is typical for the location. The bathrooms were DISGUSTING. I don't even want to know what the kitchen looked like. Head over to the Cheeky Monk instead!

Not the best go to place after a day of skiing at Winter Park. Located at the base of the mountain in the Winter Park village, Lime is very similar to its twin restaurant in Denver in many ways. The service is very sub-par, if not some of the worst. The food isn't that hot (in terms of goodness and not temperature). On a positive note, once you can overlook the rude attitudes of the staff and the long wait times, they do have a decent happy hour. We stopped in about 4:30 after a day on the mountain enticed by their happy hour sign out front. $3 house margaritas weren't the worst I have ever had, but what can you really expect for $3. We also went on a Tuesday which happened to be $2 taco Tuesdays. I ended up ordering a carne asada and a chicken taco; both were sadly less than average. I was also enticed by their signature dish, the Scorpion, which they have advertised as a top 100 food to try in Denver. Word of advice: skip the scorpions and go with something else. It is basically a piece of shrimp covered by a giant piece of jalapeno, battered, and deep fried. The jalapeno was very overpowering to the dish, which was all that you tasted. Would I come here again? Probably not. Save yourself and have a better meal at one of the other options in the village.

I have been to Limes in Winter Park twice now. The first visit was not good, but since it had been a while we decided to give it a second try. I will keep it short: * Very poor service. * Stark, loud atmosphere, with a very strange layout. Looks like they never finished. * Uninteresting, boring food, some of it quite expensive like the $8 tiny bowl of edamame with table salt on top, the kind you get for free at many restaurants. Don't bother with the Limes in Winter Park.

I have been to Lime a few times in the past years - used to be very cold in there. They fixed that so we tried it again with my brother and sister in law who were visiting us. Brought our 4 year old twins. it was 6pm on a Sunday night. the music was so ridiculously loud we couldn't hear each other without screaming. It was also headbanger music. So, the kids didn't talk, and the adults tried but finally just gave up and watched the snowboarding videos. There were so many kids and families in there - everyone just looked annoyed. We asked the waitress to turn down the music. she nodded but then never did. the manager was checking his iphone, getting his meal, going outside with his friends, and completely not paying attention to the restaurant. At wits end, I firmly then asked the waitress to turn down the music and that this was the last night with my family and we weren't able to visit at all. She turned it down but walked right by the manager and didn't tell him how upset we were. He never came over and said a thing. Once the music was down a bit, we could talk and all of a sudden the rest of the tables were chatting and there was a fun atmosphere. I saw my friends on the way out - they were coming in with kids and I warned them. They texted me later that night that the mgmt turned the music back up when we left and they had a bad time too. I won't return and I will be sharing with our friends/family/guests in town to stay away unless they are 21 and want a loud bar to hang out in. Food was good and the kid's menu was really nice. but I barely remember eating b/c my head was banging... Too bad that Winter Park allows such an un-family friendly atmosphere to be the first restaurant you come to in the Village. Please turn the music down and pay attention to your patrons! Thank you.

Here is what i think about a restaurant: your nose should immediately tell you how it is going to be. In this case, I didn't smell anything, so I should have known. It wasn't horrible, but nothing to recommend. Chicken tacos were flavorless and light on the chicken. My kids each had the bean burrito, for a $7.95 child's meal, the portion was huge, and pretty weak. I cant believe i spent almost $25 for 3 kids to eat, should have been about $10 total. I was shocked that a kids meal was that expensive. The service was fine, except I take issue with servers that come to the table and auction the meals. You know what I ordered, give it to me, don't ask me who order the tacos. For full disclosure, the only time I would give one star is if the food was horrible tasting or the service was rude? Neither are the case here. I wish I would have read the reviews and enjoyed one of the better places at the resort or in town. I will have a sandwich or hot dog next time.

Went here after a friend's wedding, the bartender Craig was extremely rude. No idea why he works at a job he clearly hates. He charged me $10 for a "skinny" marg which was in a tiny glass and $7 for a vodka soda. Needless to say we left after that. What a joke.

  • Alice H.

The service was amazingly slow. The waitress seemed taxed by handling only two tables. The menus were so filthy I was reluctant to touch them. The food was OK, but the waitress couldn't handle a "leave off the guacamole". Their scorpions are overrated, as the jalapeno completely overwhelms the shrimp. If you still decide to set foot in this place, and you love jalapenos so much that you'd like them to overwhelm the shrimp, note the pricing on the various ways you can order scorpions. The best value is to order them as a side dish, not as an appetizer or as an entree.

I think our entire random group would say that Lime became our official hangout for the big destination wedding that brought us together. From the initial meet and greet most of us enjoyed, the rehearsal dinner and some pre-wedding drinks this was the spot to be for a margarita. The bartenders even became unofficial weddings guests and joined us for the reception as their shifts allowed- it was that kind of a party from the moment we arrived! They accommodated our every request- even if it meant buying the OU game on pay-per-view since it should have been an easy victory and they had the drinks flowing when it became clear that wasn't the case. The food was great, the drinks were better and the atmosphere was so much fun. We still talk about how much fun we had at this place, and how great the drinks were!

As long time Winter Park visitors my family and I were excited to try out some of the new eateries in the newly developed village. We went to Lime and I was shocked at how rude the staff were. We had a party of 13 and they showed no interest in trying to accomodate us. We went to Cheekymonk next door and we were treated really well...Lime will never see a dollar of our money and I hope that other potential patrons will refuse to reward bad behavior.

Lime was a great experience. Being in my 20s the vibe was great. Good music, great food and amazing drink specials. It was a little crowded, but with entrees peaking at around $13 and $3 margs, who can complain. The staff was great; friendly and efficient. I did notice some people were bent out of shape over the cook time for their group, but with such a small kitchen and a group of twelve, that seemed to be expected. Our wait time was definitely reasonable. Over all i give Lime two thumbs up. A round of Margaritas after a champagne powder day is always great in my book!!

Wow, there must be two Limes in WP. I'm glad i've never been to the one that everyone else goes to ... it sounds awful! The on i go to after all of our snowboarding has staff who know us by name. They know what we drink and start mixing the margaritas when they see us rack our boards. They'll change the channel on any of their 3 big-screen TVs so we can watch our favorite game. They replenish the free chips and salsas often and without having to ask. They'll customize any of their dishes to your taste -- no bacon in the breakfast burrito to accommodate the vegetarian, go easy on the jalapenos for the one who doesn't like a lot of spice, etc. And their black beans are vegetarian ... yeah! The bartender's pour is also very generous (i often ask him to tone down the tequila in my margarita so i can find my way to the gondola afterwards!). While we're out enjoying the great pow-pow on the slopes, we're already looking forward to our apres food and drink at Lime.

The worse restaurant experience ever. Do NOT go here!!! The service was really poor, slow and they had a really bad attitude. On top of that the food was really bad as well. I ordered a salad and found some over-fried fries in my salad... eek. When I asked for a new salad to go instead I got another salad with chicken instead of steak and wrong dressing. How is it possible to mess up that much?? Would have been ok if the margaritas where stronger at this point! NOT WORTH A VISIT... not even for margaritas!!!

I dined at the Winter Park location on January 6, 2010, with three of my friends. We ordered their "Mighty Margaritas" which are advertised on their menu as being 21 oz. When we received our margaritas they seemed to be very small, so for kicks, we decided to measure one of our 16 oz pint glasses (our water glasses) into one of the empty margarita glasses and our water completely filled the margarita glass. When we showed the waiter that our margarita glasses were actually only 16 oz, not 21 oz as advertised, he was shocked and said he would bring the manager over. The manager (CRAIG WINCHESTER) took 10 minutes to come to our table, after our second request that he come to talk with us, and when he did he not only knew about the situation, but he came up with some excuse that the previous group had broken all of the restaurant's 21 oz glasses and he had to use the 16 oz glasses while the 21 oz glasses were "on order." Interestingly, they did not offer any 16 oz margaritas on their menu so I'm not sure why the restaurant would have these glasses in stock...not to mention the fact that it seems extremely improbable that a previous group would order enough margaritas to use up every 21 oz glass in the restaurant and then proceed to break each glass. Even if this excuse was true, we should have been notified before ordering our margaritas that we would not be receiving the full 21 ounces. When we tried to explain to the manager that we shouldn't have to pay for 21 ounces when we only received 16, he said "Did you hear what I just said? Our glasses were all broken..." He then said that he could either give us a round of free shots or he could comp our margaritas. We said we would appreciate a comp, and the manager then said, "Well, I can comp one of your margaritas but I won't comp all three." I told the manager that there was no way we would pay the full price for 21 oz margaritas when we only received 16 oz, especially when the manager KNEW he was only giving us 16 oz and never notified us. He then said, "Fine, I'll comp all three." and he stalked off. We never saw him again, and although our margaritas were eventually comped, the manager had handled the situation so poorly that we resented having to pay a dime to someone who was trying to con us. Either way, we paid the bill and gave the server 20% tip (he was a great server even if he worked for an awful restaurant) but we will never return. We have already contacted the management company to notify them of the situation and we are currently awaiting a reply. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!!

I come to Winter Park several times a month and this is the beat restaurant here. Its not Denver Awesome Molecular Gastronomy, but it is solid.

Great place for happy hour. $4 frozen margs from 3-6 are the way to go. Tasty margaritas! Service is cool, though you just have to be assertive in Winter Park. The locals (employees) are pretty laid back folk.

We ski in Winter Park 25-30 days a year. We usually eat lunch at MJ or the village area. I would not recommend this place. Poor service, poor attitude and below average food for a Mexican joint.

I am a local but I won't be stopping by again.

first I would like to start this review with an apology..To our waitress, for which I am so sorry I had the audacity to interrupt your busy schedule so you could go fetch us some menus while we waited and waited and waited twittling our thumbs staring at the blank white walls and empty table in front of us.

Went here after a friend's wedding, the bartender Craig was extremely rude. No idea why he works at a job he clearly hates. He charged me $10 for a "skinny" marg which was in a tiny glass and $7 for a vodka soda. Needless to say we left after that. What a joke.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
